August 24-27, 2009

I love cheesy scifi movies (or 'Syfy' if you prefer.)
And no sooner had I thought:
"Gee, I'm jonesing for a monster squid movie,"
did Syfy provide me with the mother of all monster squid movies.
With a Megashark I might add.
One that eats planes.
Sweet.

Then there's the scale.
Which I choose not to talk about at this time.

The eternal struggle between workaholism and laziness.

And short lived exuberance.

August 17-21, 2009

Holy cow, a whole weeks worth!

I spent the entire week trying to veg out and relax. But things always come up, don't they? And predictably, this week was not relaxing at all.
The harder I tried to chill out the more exhausted I got.
...
So tired.
So very tired.

August 12-13, 2009

Yes.
This is the third summer in a row some freak disaster has left me without power. The lovely combination of low hanging power cords and an eighteen wheeler through my tiny suburban street was the culprit this time around. The year before that it was a mutant storm. And the year before that it was a blown up transformer. I shudder with excitement at the prospect of what lay in store for me next summer.

As for this run though, the power did come back many hours later. The A/C did die moments later. There was a period of time (a very long period of time) when it seemed like the air conditioning had returned without any effect at all. It was actually running backwards.

But I don't think poorly on the experience. Rather I've taken to the sunnier perspective. This wasn't a very long, strained, possibly insanity inducing recreation of simpler times. It's just a training exercise for the posthumous stay in hell I am so speedily rushing towards.

One day I'll laugh.

August 4-6, 2009

This week was hugely unproductive.
I hang my head in shame.

But I did get to sketch a bit and I haven't been able to do that for some time. So it wasn't a complete loss.

July 27-29, 2009

For a brief moment, I thought I had won against the cat...

But as you can see, he got his revenge.
He really knows how to impede progress.
