Here's hoping it's everything you wanted!

Thursday, December 20, 2012

Forget using my feeble arms.
Just roll me in the thicket.
I'll Katamari the debris out.

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

A note to the future.
If I have managed to survive this week, that, in and of itself, will be a Christmas miracle.

Thursday, December 6, 2012

I am being completely serious.

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Mitigating guilt.

Thursday, November 29, 2012

I had another comic planned for today, but this was kinda obscuring everything.

Monday, November 26, 2012

A Thanksgiving moment.

Thursday, November 22, 2012

By all means, eat yourself to sleep.

Monday, November 19, 2012

(Highlight below if you want them.  That way I am guiltless.)

It's 'Rise of the Guardians.'
Tracks are as follow:
Track 16: Memorial
Track 17: Guardians Regroup
Track 25: Sandman Returns

I feel reasonably comfortable saying Sandman is gonna die.
And then return!  (Huzzah)

There's also the track 'Jack Betrays'

And 'Jack's Memories.'
Which if you've seen the interview's and featurette on Apple's trailers, pulls in the Tooth Fairy's plot purpose.

So yes.
I know how tempting it is to hint and tease things about your own story, I really do.
And I know I'm gonna see this movie.
But please, stop yourselves.

Thursday, November 15, 2012

Every morning I face the same questions:
"Do I get up?  Or do I just burrow deeper into my little bed sheet hovel?

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Jumping Cholla is a cactus that employs the defense mechanism of breaking off it's branches AS SOON AS YOU TOUCH THEM.

It takes less then a breath of wind to knock them off.

And they have two types of spines.
The big ones are actually way easier to deal with.
But there are also these little tiny hair ones that are usually less then 2cm long (so you can't even pull them out really.)
They're the ones that'll make your life hell.

Thursday, November 1, 2012

It's frustrating when you think you're doing all you can possibly be doing and not meeting expectations.
Even more so when you take time away from it.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

This day was an isolated incident it seems.
I hold no hope of having leisure time ever again.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

It made it to the bowl.
I consider that a win.

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Didn't even miss a beat.

And for those of you with October birthdays, you're welcome.  Now you can never unknow what your parents were doing on Valentine's day.

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

I'm not quite sure where these conversations come from...

Thursday, October 11, 2012

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Good times.
Good times.

Thursday, October 4, 2012

I need to stop doing this to myself...

Okay.  I've had a few questions.
"Two Steps from Hell" is a music making group that puts together thirty second to two minute long stock music for use in movie trailers and promotional stuff.

I think they got their big break when their track "Moving Mountains" was used by one of the "Twilight" trailers.

Anyways, now, and most deservedly so, their work is available from iTunes.
"Diabolic Clockwork" is a track they recollected for an iTunes release with a Halloween album.
And at 3 o'clock in the morning, it is creepy as hell.

...so is Track 1 "Possessed Gramophone."

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

So much wonderful.

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Those carts are surprisingly fast.
But we pack 'em to the brim anyways.

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Urban camouflage.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

There is no picture that exists that can convey how far up we wanted to be.
I can't say for sure how many stories up we were, but we were clearly well above surrounding buildings.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

I looked diseased.
It was AWful.

I did remember to take a picture from the top of Pena Palace though

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Swear to god.
It's like Lenin.

The REALLY weird thing though?
There's only about one picture of it on the web (barely).
And NOBODY talks about it.
I have scoured the internet and there's not a peep.

Does anyone know about this?

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

For someone like me, who can never decide what to eat, having a place to go (packed to the brim with perfectly prepared food) is heaven.
Clearly we need these here.

Thursday, September 6, 2012

It's really kinda like New York in the summer.
Except that they have siestas.

Which means, in the summer, in the middle of the day, NO ONE IS OUT.
Locals don't start venturing out until 2-3, when they get light tapas meals.
And then dinner doesn't formally start until 9ish.

It was pretty damn pleasant.
The bits I was awake for.

Thursday, August 9, 2012

I'm not entirely sure why I cared so much.
I think I was mostly feeling guilty.

That guy wasn't doing anything, then I came along and dug him up.
To leave him for the birds just seemed rude.

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

I do not bounce apparently.

Thursday, August 2, 2012

Lord help me.

And him.
Basically, these treatments keep him fully hydrated.

Monday, July 30, 2012

Also, I have a twitter now.

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

I'm Back!

And driving in San Diego sucks.

Everything else about the con was great though!
Big thanks to everyone who swung by the Oni Press booth!

The kickstarter is in the last 24 hours.

We're sooo close to 25k and the swanky new hardcover edition.
Show your love and spread the word!

Part 2 of 2.
(See previous post.)

This is the first time I've seen this argument actually make sense.
I know they stress "revenge is never the answer" in kids movies, but that never seemed very convincing.  By the time the main character realized it, the antagonist was already on the ropes, or had been punished some other way.  So walking away was easy.
And it shouldn't be.

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

I don't want to get dinged on anybody's Marvel filters for having an opinion about this.
And to be fair, DC is just as guilty.
(I'm pretty sure I know exactly where I stand with both of them anyways, so meh.)

But yeah.
I'm tired of it.
And they're already pimping out the next big crisis for October, which leaves me feeling really exhausted.

We need a breather between world threatening events!
If the world's gonna end every other day, it kinda loses its "umpf," you know?

And the world doesn't have to be threatened in a big way even (like it always seems to be.)
Tiny, taut stories can be just as riveting.

And before anyone goes on thinking I'm soured on the WHOLE AvsX thing, I want to clarify that I at least find Scott's feelings towards the Avengers compelling.
He really does come off as run down and cornered by them and I can't really blame him for that.
(I can blame him for the nifty little god complex he's developing... but considering that he's been under just about everybody else's boot, it's not all that unreasonable.)
So in that regard this is at least better than Civil War, wherein the need for conflict felt completely unwarranted.
(Did anyone buy Stark's reasoning?
Not that a viable argument couldn't be made, just saying HIS couldn't hold water.)

Speaking of pimping.
Have you seen Kelly Thompson's Kickstarter for her YA novel "The Girl Who Would Be King."
I think it's too late to have it backed in 24 hours, but it can still come damn close!
Let's make this SUPER SUCCESSFUL!

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Minor Rant Alert.

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

At least in a business sense, I can attest that this is true.
It's weird when these things hit you isn't it?

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

I draw for a living, so yeah, I get the logic and the logic is sound.
But I must fully 'fess, it takes me a reeeaaalllyyy long time to work myself into a state of mind where I'm prepared to draw.

And impromptu work just sorta makes me anxious.

Thursday, June 7, 2012

I'm sorry, Garrick.
We can't be allowed near nice things unsupervised.

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch, don't scratch....

Thursday, May 31, 2012

How does this even happen?
What is the logic?
And why didn't I just run?

Wednesday, May 30, 2012

This is not entirely my fault.
My shirts pull down when I sit.
I forget that.

...But no one else does.

And it gives me adequate pause, when my picture is suddenly taken without my knowledge or consent.

Thursday, May 24, 2012

I am late to everything.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Stole this bit of hilarity from my Dad.

Phoenix Comic.Con

Be there!

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Emphatic NO.

Don't get me wrong, I love me a good cookie.
But if your gonna go crazy controlling every little thing about that cookie, just have the piece of fruit.
It HAS to be more satisfying then the alternative.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Diggin' holes.
Man sized holes.
Holes to die in.
