Okay guys.
It's time.
I know my last note to you implied that there would be more SCRAPS to come, but that simply isn't the case anymore.
The break I got away from it kinda drove home how little I wanted to do SCRAPS anymore.
Don't get me wrong. I've been happy to be here and I've loved sharing my day to day with y'all. But I've reached a point where I feel like I've been on repeat and had nothing more to say. I'm also picking up professionally-wise and the constraints to my schedule are becoming hard to ignore.
I intend to keep the site up, and I've got two more books to print. But I think we're done here.
The comic did everything I needed it to do. It gave me a weekly deadline to meet, it put my work out there, it was fun. Those needs were met.
So now it's time to go.
Thank you so much.
Really.
I can't thank everyone enough.
The best to everyone.

I may have forgotten to post last Thursday due to a confluence of events.
(I am ashamed...)
But yes!
We are done with year four!
And SCRAPS is gonna go on a brief hiatus. (I get a month off.) (I think I've earned it.)
I have plans for year five that include a little hurly burly.
So keep an eye out.
Hopefully Y5 will be as awesome as I intend.
Also-
A friend of mine, Whitney Prevett, has an awesome shirt design up for voting over at WeLoveFine.
Go show her some love and vote!

THE KICKSTARTER FUNDED! Thank you all so much! I can't tell you how awesome this is, and how appreciative I am.
We still have a couple hours left though and few more incentives to dole out. Today's offering of original line art is CATWOMAN. And she will be made available this evening (5.21.13) at 7:00pm MST. There's only one, so you gotta be quick! Good luck!
OH!
And PHXCC is this weekend!
Stop by!

I am the most useless volunteer ever. Most assuredly.
But it is real pretty at the botanical garden right now.
ALSO-
We're so close to 8K on Kickstarter!
Show some love!
ALSO ALSO-
Free Comic Book Day!
I'll be at Samurai Comics (on Camelback) from 10-3ish/4ish.
Tuesday, April 30, 2013
Don't get me wrong, it's nice knowing my dad is invested in my Kickstarter doing well.
But only one of us should be obsessively checking their email every fifteen minutes.
And that person is me.
FURTHERMORE-
The KICKSTARTER Continues!
Show some love!
AND EVEN FURTHERMORE-
I'll be kicking it with the SAMURAI COMICS crew over on Camelback this weekend for Free Comic Book Day!
Catch me between 10-3ish.

It's really weird posting something like this.
Airing your insecurities certainly poses some disadvantages.
And it's not like I'm trying to bum anybody out.
In fact, I started this journal comic specifically for the purpose of showing how funny a life like mine could be.
But it's been hard lately, as I've felt like crawling in a hole about once a week in past months.
Part of it is stress (self-publishing is a monster.) The other part of it is that I'm a naturally inclined towards anxiety.
I feel better now.
That's the nice part of this, the fact that it passes.
So I don't want anyone out there worrying. All my coping mechanisms are fine.
I do worry that this represents a poor editing choice on my part.
Journal comic or no, this is a narrative whose tone I can bend and shape and put the face of my choosing on.
But I feel like it'd be dishonest to tell you that I feel great all the time, every day.
And if it's as comforting to others as it is to me to find out someone whose life you are privy to feels just the same amount of discomfort and anxiety, then I'm happy to admit to it.
Because I feel this on a weekly basis.
And I still do pretty okay.

Let's clarify.
I have a standard art degree.
Which means I have seen my share of naked ladies.
And I have lady business of my own.
But it wasn't until tumblr that I started seeing lady business at THAT particular angle on about a weekly basis.
And, I dunno.
My almost always standard response is...
'...huh.'
Is this too much information?
